Emanuele Miola is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Milano-Bicocca. His research interests include Italian dialectology, historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, and youth language. In 2013, he published Innovazione e conservazione in un dialetto di crocevia. Il kje di Prea (FrancoAngeli), a grammar of an endangered language spoken in the province of Cuneo, Southern Piedmont, Italy.Paolo Ramat has served as Professor of Germanic Philology at the Universities of Cagliari and Pavia, and full Professor of Linguistics at the University of Pavia and at the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori (IUSS–Pavia). His main scientific interests are historical linguistics, Indo-European studies, linguistic typology, and theoretical linguistics. He has published widely in all these areas. His 2005 book Pagine linguistiche. Scritti di linguistica storica e tipologica (Laterza) is a revised and enlarged version of papers published in the last 25 years.
