Biography
Isabell Schmidt studied Prehistoric Archaeology at the Universities of Cologne, Germany, and Cape Town, South Africa, and received her PhD from the University of Cologne in 2014. Currently, she holds a postdoctoral research position in the Collaborative Research Centre 806 “Our Way to Europe” at the same institution. João Cascalheira completed his PhD at the University of Algarve, Portugal, in 2013. He is currently an Assistant Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Archaeology and Evolution of Human Behavior at the same institution. Nuno Bicho received his PhD in Anthropology from Southern Methodist University, Texas, USA, in 1992. He is Associate Professor of Archaeology and the Director of the Interdisciplinary Center of Archaeology and Evolution of Human Behavior at the University of Algarve, Portugal. Gerd-Christian Weniger studied Prehistory, Ethnology and Zoology at the Universities of Münster and Tübingen, Germany. He completed his PhD in Prehistory in 1981, and served as Director of the Neanderthal Museum, Mettmann, Germany, from 1996 to 2018.
