Renewable Energy and Alternative Technologies
Sunil Prasad Lohani received his BE in Mechanical Engineering from Kathmandu University, Nepal, his MSc in Renewable Energy as DAAD scholar from the University of Oldenburg, Germany, and his PhD in Anaerobic Digestion from Kathmandu University and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, as DAAD Sandwich PhD Scholar. He has over 15 years experience in the fields of renewable energy consulting and mechanical engineering teaching and research, with his teaching, research and publications focused on renewable energy and biogas technology. He has been working in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kathmandu University as an Assistant Professor since 2009. Sunil is actively involved in the field of biogas and solar energy research and consulting assignments, and collaborates with international partners. He has mainly focused on waste (water) characterization, anaerobic digestion (waste to bio-energy) research, optimization of biogas production from solid and liquid waste and holistic models of municipal solid waste (water) management. He has also edited a book, published a book chapter, serves as a program committee member in an international conference, serves as a reviewer for several journals, and has published over 20 journal and conference proceedings.
