Dr Anees Ahmed Khalil is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the University Institute of Diet and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Lahore, Pakistan. He graduated from the National Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFSAT) at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan, in 2012. In 2013, he received a scholarship from the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, for his doctoral degree, and he later received his PhD degree in Food Technology from the University of Agriculture in 2016. He worked in the Fruits and Vegetables Laboratory at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, as research scholar and teaching assistant between 2012 and 2016. His research interests are the therapeutic and nutraceutical properties of fruits and vegetables. Currently, he is working on exploring the medicinal perspectives of plants innate to desert areas of Pakistan, along with their effective utilization through the formulation of innovative designer foods. He is also a team member in an ongoing project funded by ALP-Pakistan Agriculture Research Center, Islamabad. He has published a number of papers in journals of international repute, including RSC Advances, Lipids in Health and Disease, and Food Processing and Preservation. He is also working on diﬀerent research and review articles as well as book chapters.
