Dr Bishwambhar Mishra completed his BTech (Biotechnology) in 2010 and his Integrated PhD (Biotechnology) in 2015 at VIT University, India. He began his professional career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST), India, in 2014. Prior to that he worked as a Research Associate at VIT University for four years. He has authored a total of 30 papers in national (10) and international (20) peer-reviewed journals, as well as two books, two book chapters and 14 conference proceedings to date, as well as seven DNA sequences in the NCBI/GenBank database. He has attended 18 conferences, 10 professional training courses/workshops and chaired two sessions in international conferences. He has a total of 200 citations to his name since 2012. He is a reviewer, editorial board member and guest editor of various peer-reviewed journals. His research focuses on industrial biotechnology, food biotechnology, food microbiology, fermentation technology and bioprocess technology. The major aims of his research are to develop the processes for the production and purification of industrial enzymes and microbial exopolysaccharides and their applications in the food and fermentation industries. Bishwambhar received a Research Award from VIT University in 2012 for his contribution to research through publication in peer-reviewed journals. He was one of the recipients of the ‘Gandhian Young Innovative Technological Award’ (National Award) in 2013 from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.
