Anthropology

Mohamed Abdo Mahgoub is Professor of Anthropology at Alexandria University, Egypt. He has conducted field research in Egyptian, Kuwaiti, and Saudi Arabian societies since 1965, and has published twenty-four books in Arabic and one in English, in addition to fifty-two articles in various edited volumes and journals. His socio-anthropological field research in Arab societies concentrates on customary laws, criminal responsibility, women’s rights in tribal communities, economic development and the Arab family, and the 2013 Egyptian rebellion as a result of deviation in the Arab Spring, among others.
