Dr Shadreck Mubiana Situmbeko holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (2016), an MSc in Engineering Design from Loughborough University, UK (1993), and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Zambia (1984). He has more than 25 years combined experience of university teaching, research and publication, and industrial experience in research and development (R&D) institutions in the fields of clean and renewable energy technologies and product/engineering design. He has authored 11 peer-reviewed journal papers, 20 peer-reviewed conference papers, two open access e-learning resources, and has conducted consultancies on solar energy, wind energy, bioenergy, and machinery design and development in the fields of environment, agriculture and industrial development. He is a recipient of the 2nd Best Paper award at the Botswana Institution of Engineers' 11th Biennial Conference in 2009. His PhD thesis was titled 'Modelling and Testing of a Low Temperature Solar Organic Rankine Cycle Power Plant'. He has also served on the Management Committee of the Clean Energy Research Centre (CERC) at the University of Botswana since 2015.
