Polymer Science and Technology
Jotun Performance Coatings, Norway
Having earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering, Dr Sulalit Bandyopadhyay is currently working as a Polymer Scientist in the Antifouling Department at Jotun A/S. During his PhD, he worked extensively on smart and multifunctional nanoparticles tailored towards drug delivery. He is also employed as a Visiting Researcher and Guest Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. Before joining Jotun in 2017, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at TU Delft and the Institute of Water Education, Delft, the Netherlands. He graduated with a BE(Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University, India, and was thereafter awarded the Erasmus Mundus Fellowship to do his MSc in Chemical Engineering at NTNU. He was the recipient of the Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) in 2006 and the DAAD Fellowship in 2009. Sulalit's research interests include synthesis, characterization and functionalization of nanoparticles and polymers, development of nanoparticle-based hydrological tracers for water management, drug delivery and other biomedical applications. He has communicated his research through several journal publications, conference presentations and is currently writing a book with McGraw-Hill Education on the fabrication and application of nanomaterials towards various applications.
