Alice Spencer holds a PhD in Medieval English Literature from the University of Turin, where she now lectures in English. As an undergraduate, she studied at St. Hugh’s College, Oxford University. Her published articles include “Erotic Dialogue and the Meaning of Magaryte in Thomas Usk’s Testament of Love” in Carr, Clarke and Nievergelt, eds. On Allegory: Aspects and Interpretations (Newcastle-upon-Tyne: Cambridge Scholars Press) and “Morpheus Bound: Imagination, Dialogue and Lyric Transformation in La Fonteinne Amoureuse, Le Paradis d’amour and The Book of the Duchess” in R.A. Henderson, ed. English Studies 2004 (Turin: Trauben). She has given papers at a number of international conferences. She is the author of several English language textbooks.
