James Tang was a practising dentist until 2017, when he decided to concentrate on his research into musculoskeletal pain. He is a Level 3 personal trainer, a Level 4 sports massage therapist and a corrective exercise specialist certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Inspired by his success in reversing his own recurrent lower back pain, and fuelled by a vibrant enthusiasm to share his knowledge with others in the profession, he began to research how to holistically manage musculoskeletal pain. He has lectured on postural dysfunction and musculoskeletal conditions for many years, helping fellow dental professionals to improve their postures to prevent musculoskeletal pain. He has also written numerous articles for various dental magazines and contributed to the newsletters of the Dentist’s Provident Society and the Medical Defence Union of Scotland, and to a webinar hosted by KaVo Dental.
