Dr Jane Ru Choi

Dr Jane Ru Choi received her Bachelor degree (Hons) in Biomedical Science from the National University of Malaysia in 2012 and her PhD in Engineering from University of Malaya, Malaysia, in 2016. She is currently a Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Her research interests include engineering the microenvironment of human stem cells for regenerative medicine, synthesis of functional biomaterials and nanomaterials, and development of microfluidic devices using different analytical chemical approaches for environmental monitoring, food safety analysis and clinical applications.

Jane has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and two book chapters, with eight patents issued or pending. Her works have been published in several leading journals including Theranostics, Critical Reviews in Biotechnology, Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences, Trends in Analytical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Lab on a Chip, and Advanced Healthcare Materials, with three selected as journal cover. Some of her work has also been highlighted in Elsevier’s Summer Chemistry Collection, X-MOL News, Wiley Materials Views China and Advanced Science News.

Jane serves as an editorial board member and reviewer of more than 10 international journals including Stem Cells International (Lead Guest Editor), Scientific Reports, Analytical Chemistry, and Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry.
