Series Description

The Project Management Research Series comprises a number of monographs consisting of papers drawn from a breadth of research areas in project management. Each monograph in the series follows a particular research theme or a collection of papers from a particular research event or conference.

The series editors are interested in receiving proposals from industry and academic researchers who are able to coordinate authors who make contributions around a particular topic of interest in project, program and portfolio management.


Editor(s) Biography

Michael Young
Michael Young is an award-winning project, program and portfolio manager, having been recognized with over 20 national and international awards in project management and in business. He plays an active leadership role in the project management profession both within Australia and internationally. Michael is a past Chapter President and national board member of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), the author of the AIPM competency standard for portfolio management and currently chairs the AIPM Knowledge and Research Council and the AIPM Standards Committee. Michael is also a member of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) Research Management Board and is the Australian delegate to the IPMA Competency Baseline (ICB 4.0) project. He is also the IPMA representative to the ISO Technical 258 – the body oversees the development of international project management standards. Michael is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Project Management, Fellow of the Association of Project Management, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and Certified Practicing Project Director and holds qualifications in business, computer science management, auditing, training and assessment, project management and strategic procurement. Michael is finalising his PhD in which he has examined project-based methods for strategy implementation.

Beverly Pasian
Dr. Beverly Pasian embodies the international spirit of the IPMA. Educated in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, she is the founding President of the Project Management Association of Canada (2007-10) and the first recipient of its Fellowship award. She currently serves in leadership roles as Research Chairs for both the Dutch member association of the IPMA and the Asia-Pacific Federation of Project Management. She is an avid supporter of project management research. Her research partners are in China, Australia, France, the United Kingdom and the USA, examining project management from varied perspectives: maturity, maturity models, gender, e-Learning, construction and cultural diversity. She has more than 20 undergraduate and Masters students of project management currently under her supervision at Masters program in project management at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences.

Beyond her work with the Research Management Board, she is an expert participant in the IPMA Delta Baseline project, and academic program lead for the 2014 World Congress in Amsterdam. It is with the Dutch MA that she is founding the first-ever IPMA national project management research group in the Netherlands.
