This Series is a forum for innovative and original articles on legislative drafting and law reform from international and comparative law perspectives.The key purpose of this Series is to respond to the growing demand among scholars, legislative drafters, law reformers, legislators and practitioners of law in the private and public sectors for a forum for authoritative views on legislative drafting and law reform with an international and comparative law focus on the major jurisdictions of the World namely common law, civil law, European Union law and Islamic law to mention a few.A related purpose is to look at global trends that carry legislative and law reform implications. Dr.Tonye Clinton Jaja is a lawyer with a specialisation in legislative drafting and law reform. He was awarded a PhD in law (legislative drafting degree by the University of London (Institute of Advanced Legal Studies). In July 2012 he was appointed a Visiting Associate Professor of Law and Legislative Drafting by the Kiit School of Law, Kiit University, India. He is currently a staff of Nigeria's National Assembly's National Institute for Legislative Studies (NILS). His primary duty is to draft Bills, legislation and undertake Bill(s) Analysis and Bill(s) Scrutiny for legislators. In this position, Dr. Jaja also serves as a law lecturer on the University of Benin/NILS Masters of Legislative Drafting programme. Dr. Jaja was previously a law tutor and instructor for Canada's Athabsca University's Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting programme. In May 2014, Dr.Jaja was hired as a Team Leader by the United Nations FAO, Rome, Italy to provide legislative drafting training for members of staff of FAO's Legal Department. In August 2012 his first book was published: T.C.Jaja, Legislative Drafting: Introduction to Theories and Principles (Netherlands, Wolf Legal Publishers). Dr.Jaja is a co-founder and speaker at the Annual international conference on legislative drafting and law reform that holds at the World Bank Headquarters, Washington D.C., U.S.A.
