Hamid Reza Jafari is Professor of Environmental Management, Planning and Education at the College of Engineering of the University of Tehran, Iran. He received his Master’s of Engineering in Electronic and Computer Engineering and his PhD in Computer Science from Louisiana State University, USA. He teaches courses in Environmental Planning and Management, Computer Modeling, GIS and RS. His research focuses on the systematic approach, particularly with regards to mathematical modeling. He has published several books and articles, and is on the editorial boards of a number of international journals.

Dr Saeed Karimi is an environmental scientist and received his PhD degree in Environmental Planning from the University of Tehran, Iran, where he is currently Assistant Professor in the Faculty of the Environment. He has more than 15 years of experience of teaching and researching on environmental issues for both private and government sectors. He has published many books and papers in these fields. He works in the areas of environmental impact assessment, health impact assessment, health, safety and the environment, risk assessment, land use planning, and GIS.

Fatemeh Sadat Alavipoor obtained her Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering in 2012 from the Ferdowsi University in Mashhad, Iran. She received an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2016, and is currently a PhD student at the same institution. She has published a number of journal articles, and is on the editorial boards of various international journals. She is a board member of Zist Pardazesh Aria CO. LTD.
