Peter Stupples is currently Senior Lecturer in Art History and Theory at the Dunedin School of Art at Otago Polytechnic, New Zealand. He was formerly Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Art History and Theory at the University of Otago, New Zealand. He has written widely about the social history of art and Russian visual culture. His twelve books include Pavel Kuznetsov: His Life and Art (1989) and The Social Life of Art (2014). He is also an experienced art curator, journal editor and book reviewer.
